Our Story

Our family has been connected to turquoise for generations. Our grandmother, Vivian Flavin (King), was the granddaughter of I.P. King, who rediscovered turquoise near Manassa, Colorado, in 1894, marking the beginning of a deep family connection to craftsmanship and stone.

In the San Luis Valley, our grandparents built a life around jewelry-making after our grandfather’s retirement from the Air Force in 1964. Our grandmother became a renowned lapidary artist, admired for her intricate cabochon cutting and artistic approach. By the 1980s, our father continued this tradition, expanding his work across Colorado, New Mexico, and Arizona, and further deepening our family’s turquoise legacy.

We grew up surrounded by this craft, watching our parents pour their heart and soul into jewelry, blending artistry with heritage. That upbringing inspired Inde & Sol: a next-generation brand rooted in our family’s silversmithing tradition, created to share this story in a new way today.

At Inde & Sol, you’ll find two things: sterling silver pieces handcrafted by our dad, cast using traditional lost-wax techniques, hand-polished, and set with stones he cuts himself, and authentic Native American jewelry made by artisans whose skills and techniques have been passed down for generations.

Our family’s history has been recognized in publications such as Turquoise in America, celebrating the enduring bond we share with this remarkable stone. We’re honored to carry this legacy forward and hope you find a piece that resonates with you.
